A Perspective on Love

Try to fall in love, I once heard a film star say,
But only with the kind of love that’s peculiar in a way.
Spend time searching high and low, next to no time to delay,
For true love never lingers; ready to lead your heart astray.

Try to fall in love, I once heard a pop star say,
But only with romantic love — symbolic chaos and slight decay.
Head over heels, two lovely people, bubblegum feelings to convey,
Long lasting love usually dwindles, when all of yourself you give away.

Try to fall in love, I once heard an elder say,
But only with long term in mind — and a set of rules to obey.
Remaining deeply in love may require a bold and bright bouquet,
As soon the feeling of being in love may become part of yesterday.

Try to fall in love, I once heard myself say,
But only with the kind of love that brings your true nature out to play.
To the person you love, tomorrow is not just another day,
For real deal, feel good love does more than take your breath away.
